Designed for listeners who value both high-end sound and a high-tech appearance, the Athena MS-STB speaker stands offer the ideal combination of form and function. Painted an attractive silver color, the stands fit Athena's Micra-6 satellite speakers, a pair of petite, modern-looking models that help create a three-dimensional soundstage in your living room. The stands contribute to this task by positioning your speakers at the ideal listening height, giving the audio added texture and depth. The stands are also remarkably durable thanks to their solid metal and aluminum construction, along with the firm black metal base that holds the speakers firmly in place (assembly is easy and takes just a few minutes). The MS-STB speaker stands are the perfect choice for people who want to enjoy the full splendor of surround sound but don't want to mount their satellites on the wall or ceiling. What's in the Box

First, these are not made by Athena. They are aftermarket and nowhere near the quality you come to expect of Athena products or even products related to the Athena name. Second, the bases are uneven and wobble on any hard surface. May work good on carpet, but not tile or hardwood. Third, on one of the tubes, only 1 out of the 2 holes in the tube for the speaker wire was cut out. I figured no big deal, I am handy, so I cut a hole to match the two on the other tube. Fourth, when I had everything assembled and went to mount the speakers I found that both the mounts were stripped out clean. You could barely make out some hint of threading. Since I had already cut out a hole in the tubing there was no returning it. Luckily for me I always wanted an excuse to purchase a Tap and Dye set. So, $200 later and a little garage time I have re-Tapped the holes, cut down some pan head screws to fit the new threading, drilled out the speakers to handle the wider screws, and mounted them on these mediocre stands. That being said, they now do what they are supposed to, stand there holding the rear speakers for my surround sound. I do not recommend these unless you are prepared for a little extra work. I am sorely disappointed with this product. I expected them to be as solid and well made as the speakers are at sounding great!

These stands are perfect for the Micra 6 speakers. They look great, and hold the speakers steady.

Basically, if you get the Athena speakers, you're pretty much bound to getting these stands. I generally give any product four stars if it meets my expectations, five stars if its perfect or goes beyond my expectations. These speaker stands basically met my expectations. They can be tedious when installing, and the connection between the speaker and the stand is a bit wobbly, but realistically, once they're setup your good to go. The most irritating part was threading the wire though the barrel of the stand, but I used a higher quality (reads: thicker) wire than what was supplied, which probably had a lot to do with that. Overall, if you got the Athena's, this stand is your only commercially viable choice. However, if you're handy with tools and the like, and enjoy a little time in the shop, I would recommend building up your own set of stands.

Positive:
The stands match and look great with the Micra-6 satellite speakers.
Negative:
The manufacturing seems a little cheap. A bracket on each stand to support the speaker didn't quite fit on top of the tube. Plus the speakers wobble on top of the stands.
Overall, I'm happy with these for my set up because the stands are off to the sides of the room in relatively inconspicuous locations. If I was using these for front speakers, I would probably go with something of higher quality.

They are not fancy, but they work fine. I had a problem with a clamp and screw (not made properly at the factory) and I simply emailed Athena and they sent me the parts immediately. I recommend them.
